Arriving at an old factory that is being re-purposed is exciting. Old lives were built and you can feel the history. In our case Nestlé ran a major facility in Chesterville for nearly 90 years. They invented instant coffee here – not that we’re big drinkers of the stuff, but that’s cool as heck. When the plant closed in 2006, the impact to the local area was devastating. Over 300 people lost their jobs and Chesterville and the surrounding area changed.
Now, with old concrete being torn down and cleaned up for our machines arriving we are seeing new life being brought in. Rough concrete is being replace with clean concrete, fresh paint and epoxy. The clean room is planned out.
And now our team is out looking for new employees who will be leading our manufacturing efforts. We’re aiming to be ready to produce in early November. Growing the employment base in the Chesterville area is something we are looking forward to.
